Harvest Festival
18th October 2011
On 5th October, St James School celebrated their Harvest Festival. At a short services we remembered the bounty of the harvest and gifts of fruit were offered by the children. After this, the fruit was put into individual bags and taken to the local Meals on Wheels kitchen, just across the road. From there, the fruit was distributed by their volunteers, as an extra item for those receiving this service from the Council. Because of the generosity of the children and their parents, we had more fruit than this required, so the extra was taken to The Wellspring, the centre for the homeless in Stockport. The picture shows the children starting to put the fruit into bags
